报告题目:Age-Structured Population Dynamics with Non-Local Diffusion

摘要:Recently there has been considerable interest in the theory of age-structured population dynamics incorporating spatial effects, and specially, diffusive processes into the models. Random diffusive age-structured population models have been studied by many researchers. However, there are few results on the age-structured population models with non-local diffusion. Such diffusion processes are more applicable to many biological populations compared with random diffusion processes. In the present study our objective is to continue the development of age-structured population dynamics with non-local diffusion. In particular, we study the semigroup of linear operators associated to an age-structured model with non-local diffusion and use the spectral properties of its infinitesimal generator to determine the stability of the zero steady state. It is shown that the structure of the semigroup for the age-structured model with non-local diffusion is essentially determined by those of the semigroups for the age-structured model without diffusion and the non-local operator. Finally, we will compare our results with the age-structured model with Laplacian diffusion
报告人简介:Hao Kang is now a fourth year Ph.D. student in University of Miami, USA. He graduated from Lanzhou University in 2013 and now is working with Professor ShiguiRuan. He is interested in the dynamics of nonlinear age-structured models, for instance, periodic solutions of age-structured epidemic models and dynamics of age-structured models incorporating other structures like age, size, stage and in particular, spatial diffusion including random and nonlocal diffusion.
