报告题目：Numerical methods for fractional partial differential equations

摘要：In this talk, I will first review some definitions of different types of fractional derivatives: Riemann-Liouville, Caputo, Riesz fractional derivatives and discuss the relations between them. Then I will consider how to approximate these derivatives by using finite difference scheme. Finally I will introduce space-, time-, space-time-fractional partial differential equations and discuss some popular numerical methods for solving them. Error estimates and stabilities are considered for the proposed numerical methods. Numerical examples are given.

报告人简介：闫玉斌，英国切斯特大学数学系教授。1997年-2003年在瑞典查尔姆斯工业大学数学系攻读博士学位，分别在英国曼切斯特大学数学系和英国谢菲尔德大学工程系从事博士后的研究。在国际一流专业期刊 SIAM, IMA, BIT 等发表论文30多篇。主要从事分数阶微分方程有限元和有限差分方法研究,随机偏微分方程的数值解以及抛物形方程的控制理论和数值计算,在一些研究领域做了开创性的工作.《Journal of Franklin institute》（美国）杂志的副主编，《World Research Journal of Mathematics》（印度）杂志的副主编，Mathematics Review (数学评论)的评论员，SIAM. J. Numerical Analysis 等多种国际杂志的审稿人，英国工程和物理科学研究基金的评审员。自2003年以来，在国际学术会议和国内外著名大学应邀作学术报告20多次。英国工程和物理科学研究基金的评审员。
